WHAT IS CRIMESTOPPERS?

CRIMESTOPPERS is a Community Service Awards Program that combines the Police, Media and the Public in crime solving efforts in Henry County. It combats two major problems in the community: APATHY by offering cash awards and FEAR by offering anonymity. HOW DOES IT WORK? A Board of Directors composed of involved citizens establish policy, raise funds, and oversee award payments. Crimestoppers of Henry County is is a registered 501c-3 non-profit corporation and is funded entirely by contributions and individual donations from citizens, businesses and service groups, as well as court fines processed by Henry County Courts.
 
CRIMESTOPPERS pays cash awards for information leading to the solving of a crime or recovery of property. Information on unsolved crimes and fugitives is released periodically to all area news media, but Crime Stoppers will accept tips on ANY unsolved crime or ANY fugitive ALL THE TIME. Awards are determined and payment arranged by the Board of Directors. Those having information should call 1-800-227-2324, or 1-309-937-2324, where Calls are processed by trained law enforcement personnel. Callers are not asked their names and are assigned code numbers to ensure anonymity. The TIPS phone number is NOT to be used for reporting crimes in progress. Please use 9-1-1 for all emergencies!
